DRDO DYSL-QT Internship 2026
The DRDO Young Scientist Laboratory – Quantum Technologies (DYSL-QT), Pune, functioning under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has released an official notification inviting applications for its 6-Month Paid Internship Programme 2026.
The internship is open to B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc. Physics, and M.Tech (Physics/Applied Physics/Engineering Physics) students who wish to gain practical research experience in the rapidly growing field of Quantum Technologies. Selected interns will work alongside DRDO scientists on cutting-edge projects related to Quantum Computing, Quantum Communication, Quantum Sensing, Optics, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Engineering Design.
A total of 05 internship positions are available. Selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹5,000 per month (₹30,000 for six months) and the internship will commence from 01 September 2026.

About DYSL-QT
The DRDO Young Scientist Laboratory – Quantum Technologies (DYSL-QT) is a specialized research laboratory established by DRDO to develop next-generation quantum technologies for defence applications. The laboratory focuses on research in Quantum Computing, Quantum Communication, Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Sensors, Photonics, Laser Systems, Advanced Optics, Artificial Intelligence, and Emerging Defence Technologies.
The internship provides students with an opportunity to work on live research projects under the guidance of experienced DRDO scientists.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should satisfy the following conditions:
- Minimum 70% Marks or CGPA 7.0/10
- First Class with Distinction
- Degree from an AICTE/UGC recognized institution
- Age below 28 years
- Recommendation Letter from the Principal/Director is mandatory
Stipend
Selected interns will receive:
- ₹5,000 per month
- Total stipend: ₹30,000
Payment Schedule
- ₹15,000 after successful completion of the first three months
- ₹15,000 after completion of six months and submission of the final project report
Attendance Requirement
Interns must maintain a minimum physical attendance of 15 days every month to remain eligible for the stipend.
