Position: Technician (1) [Group‑II] Group: Technical Staff Vacancies: 27 (SC – 04, OBC(NCL) – 05, UR‑PwBD(HH) – 01, UR‑PwBD(OH) – 01, EWS – 04, UR – 12; including 02 reserved for Ex‑Servicemen) Trades:

• Fitter

• Electrician / Mechanic (Electrical Power Drives)

• Electronics Mechanic / Instrument Mechanic

• Machinist

• Foundryman

• Mechanic (Motor Vehicle/Diesel)

• Refrigeration & Air‑Conditioning

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: SSC/10th Standard with Science subjects (minimum 55%) + ITI/National/State Trade Certificate in relevant trade.

• OR SSC/10th Standard with Science subjects + Apprenticeship/Work Experience (2–3 years) in relevant trade.

• Desirable Experience: Trade‑specific skills such as CAD/AutoCAD, CNC machining, electrical systems, electronics repair, HVAC maintenance, foundry operations, vehicle/diesel mechanics.

• Age Limit: 18–28 years (as on 03.08.2026). Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC(NCL) – 3 years; PwBD – 10–15 years; Departmental candidates – 5 years; Widows/Divorced Women – up to 35/40 years; Ex‑Servicemen – as per GoI rules.

Salary / Funding

• Pay Level: Level‑2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200, 7th CPC)

• Total Emoluments: Approx. ₹39,000 per month (including DA, HRA, TA)

Selection Process

• Screening of applications by committee.

• Trade Test: Qualifying in nature, syllabus notified on CSIR‑CMERI website.

• Competitive Written Examination: • Paper‑I: Mental Ability Test (50 Q, 100 marks, no negative marking) • Paper‑II: General Awareness (25 Q, 75 marks, negative marking) + English Language (25 Q, 75 marks, negative marking) • Paper‑III: Concerned Subject (50 Q, 150 marks, negative marking)

• Final merit list based on Paper‑II and Paper‑III scores.
