About the Organization

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) is one of India's premier Institutes of National Importance established by the Government of India. The Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE) is actively engaged in cutting-edge research across electronics, electrical engineering, semiconductor technologies, embedded systems, communication, VLSI, ESDM, and interdisciplinary areas. This fellowship is offered under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics & IT – Phase II, an initiative of MeitY / Digital India Corporation to strengthen research and innovation in Electronics and Information Technology.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are invited from motivated Indian researchers who:

• Hold a PhD from a recognized university.
• Possess an excellent academic record with first class at previous qualifying levels.
• Completed their PhD within five years before the application deadline.
• Are below the prescribed age limit.
• Have not completed their PhD from IIT Guwahati.
• Are not employed in regular service.
• Can submit a detailed research proposal aligned with the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants should possess:

• PhD degree from a recognized university.
• Strong academic background with first class throughout previous academic qualifications.
• PhD completed within the last five years.

Age Limit

• Maximum 40 years as on the application deadline.

Other Requirements

• Applicant must not have completed PhD from IIT Guwahati.
• Regular employees are not eligible.
• Temporary employees must resign if selected.
• A detailed research proposal is mandatory.
• Candidate should not have previously availed this fellowship.
